I had a little pile of products that didn’t work out for me, so I thought I’d finally do a disappointing products post. I’ve mentioned this before, but I have very dry, sensitive skin, and just because these things don’t work for me doesn’t mean they won’t work for you. These are all great brands and I wish I loved these products.

I’m going to start out with the Bourjois Cream Blush in 03 Rose Tender that I bought it from Asos over the summer (seeing so many positive reviews). The color is nice, BUT you don’t get a lot of product (2.5g, it takes quite a bit of effort to build up and blend out, and it’s rather shimmery.

I have yet to talk about the Botanics All Bright Soothing Eye Makeup Remover, and that’s because it really hurt my eyes. It removed my waterproof mascara, but made my eyes super red and burn like no other. I’m nervous to try other eye makeup removers now, but I’ve heard good things about the Sonia Kashuk one, so maybe I’ll give that a go instead.

The Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer is beautiful, but it irritated my skin. Her base products are my faovrite because they work really well on my skin, but this primer did not. It didn’t break me out, but I got little red bumps under my skin that indicate irritation. I had high hopes for this, but unfortunately, it’s going back to Sephora.

I’ve been really interested in facial oils lately, and I’d heard a lot of good things about the Josie Maran Argan Oil Light. I tested the light version on the back of my hand in Sephora before I bought it (like everything else), and I was like “wow! it makes my skin so soft!,” but then I put it on my face and I felt like it didn’t absorb well and it wasn’t as hydrating as my Botanics Facial Oil (mentioned here and here). I’ve been trying to find more hydrating products for the winter, and this didn’t cut it. Perhaps I’d have better luck with the regular version, but I think i’ll just stick to the one from Botanics.

What products have you been disappointed in lately? How do you feel about disappointing product posts?
